James A. Champion is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Champion Services Group, Inc. (CSG), a Human Resources and Management Consulting Firm. Mr. Champion is an “out of the box” forward-thinking Human Resources professional with more than forty years of hands-on experience in Human Resources practice and strategic management processes. He received a B.S. Degree in Education from Alabama A&M University. Mr. Champion also earned a Masters Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Miami, and has also completed an advanced Master’s level curriculum in Labor Relations at Rutgers University. Mr. Champion is certified by the American Management Association (AMA) in the training of adults. He is a Florida Supreme Court Civil and Family Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator. He is also a Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Certified Mediator; and a National Fraud Examiner. His expertise requires him to utilize visionary strategies, research, information gathering, fact-finding analysis, problem- solving techniques and conflict management skills to successfully support CSG clients.
Further, Mr. Champion is also skilled in designing and implementing results oriented leadership skills development initiatives which include executive level coaching, 360o skills assessments and balance score card processes. Based on his skills, knowledge and experience, Mr. Champion is a strong leader in strategic planning, business integration, organization development, culture change, performance management, leadership skills development and employee relations matters.
Prior to establishing CSG, Mr. Champion held executive Human Resources positions at Ryder System, Inc., Merrill Lynch & Co., United States Department of Labor and Chase Manhattan Bank. Demonstrating a solid professional and personal track record with these organizations, Mr. Champion developed, established and maintained to their natural conclusion change management processes, workforce reduction initiatives, recruitment and staffing strategies, performance management systems, compensation & benefits programs minority business development procedures, conflict management processes, career development and succession planning initiatives, employee relations and labor relations programs, fact-finding investigation strategies, workplace diversity planning, affirmative action programs, and policies and procedures development. During his career, Mr. Champion also designed, implemented and facilitated many leadership and employee training initiatives, such as strategic planning, performance management, customer service, generational differences, leadership styles, change management, effective communication, behavioral social styles, workplace diversity, conflict management, situation leadership, team building, workplace violence, safety, sexual harassment prevention, and EEO/ADA for over 100,000 management and non-supervisory employees in union and non-union work environments.
Mr. Champion serves on the Board of Directors of a number of community based organizations in South Florida. He is a board member of Jackson Health Foundation and First Serve Miami, Inc. He is also involved with the Society for Human Resources Management, Association of Affirmative Action Professionals society and Equal Employment Advisory Council.
Thomas K. Harnden is a Consultant with The Champion Services Group, Inc., a Human Resources and Management Consulting Firm. Thomas is also a principal of DS Services a consulting and training group that offers executive coaching, consulting, training and development services to professional organizations and the education market. Harnden is a proven senior manager and executive in operations and human resources with more than thirty years comprehensive experience within the Fortune 500 corporate arena. Thomas holds B.S.B.A. and MBA degrees from the University of Redlands. He also maintains a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Harnden is adjunct faculty with the University of Phoenix where he teaches undergraduate and graduate level course work in the fields of Human Resources, Organizational Development and Organizational Behavior. Thomas is also qualified to administer all of the Myers Briggs Type Inventory instruments and has used them extensively in his work with executives, managers, and teams. Thomas continues to expand his skills by completing numerous executive development business courses, seminars and workshops.

After holding a number of positions in line management in the utility industry Harnden leveraged his skills and reputation to become a successful and respected HR professional. He became a successful leader, mentor and coach for a variety of organizations and successfully led large-scale organizational change efforts and held key management and executive human resources positions within Edison International. In these positions he strategically impacted bottom-line business results by directing and managing the design, development, implementation and evaluation of human resources strategies, policies and procedures pertaining to all general human resources initiatives, including employment, employee relations, affirmative action, change management, training and development, employee benefits and compensation. He also directed the implementation of the valuing and managing diversity concept into the corporate philosophy and management practices of Southern California Edison. He also managed and facilitated numerous training sessions to train the trainers of change and diversity workshops held throughout the corporation.
Harnden is recognized by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Quartz Hill Town Council, Antelope Valley Flood Abatement Campaigns and other local political issues. Thomas is a Director on the Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce. He is also a successful as an entrepreneur that owns and operates a successful Performing Arts School in California.
Stacey Johnson-Whaley has served as a trainer/facilitator for major corporations, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Twentieth Century Fox, the City of Pasadena’s Neighborhood Leadership Institute and the Los Angeles County Office of Education, just to name a few. Her experience ranges from coaching corporate employees on how to improve their job performance to helping community leaders refine their presentation skills. A born trainer and a graduate of the University of Southern California’s prestigious Annenberg School of Communication, Stacey Johnson-Whaley not only educates the participants of her workshops, but also motivates them and inspires them to continue challenging themselves after the workshops have ended. Stacey has facilitated over 500 workshops, and is committed to serving others through education and motivation.

Work and Teaching Experience: Bob joined the Air Force where he spent half of his career in Human Resources Management and half in teaching. He taught Public Speaking and teaching skills and techniques at the Academic Instructor’s School—the teachers’ college of the Air Force. He also taught Leadership, Organizational Development and Counseling at the Air Force Academy. While at the Academy, Bob was Course Director for the Leadership course, edited two cadet textbooks for use in the course and was a contributing author to the same texts. He was the Human Resources Director at Peterson Air Force Base-an organization comprised of 6,000 people spread out over the world.
Bob taught Organization Management for the University of Colorado and Regis University, both in Colorado Springs. He has also taught Stress Management, Parenting, Improving Interpersonal Relationships, and Communication Styles to the community through a local hospital.
Bob worked for Hewlett-Packard as a Training Manager, Trainer as well as an Organizational Consultant. While the Training Manager, he spent a year teaching leadership skills to the division of nearly 3,000 people resulting in a complete positive culture change. Later he became a Production Manager where he applied those same leadership skills, a position he carried over to Agilent Technologies when they split from Hewlett-Packard.
Bob owns his own company, Peak Management Consulting and Training. Through this business he consults to organizations and businesses on such topics as Leadership, Group Dynamics, Communication, Team Building. He coaches executives and performs life coaching with people of all ages.

Marian Gaudette is a retired elementary school teacher. She received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Butler University. Ms. Gaudette earned her Master of Science in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University.
Prior to joining the Champion Services Group, Ms. Gaudette taught elementary music, kindergarten and 2nd grade for the Fullerton School District in Fullerton CA. During her many years of educating children, she was actively involved at her school site and at the District level, serving on and chairing many committees.
She was a Mentor Teacher for several years, teaching teachers how to incorporate music into their classrooms. Ms. Gaudette served on committees for Curriculum Development, Teacher Evaluation, and Teacher Training. For many years, Ms. Gaudette was a Master Teacher for student teachers from California State University-Fullerton and Vanguard University, and was a guest lecturer at Cal State-Fullerton. Ms. Gaudette was actively involved with the Fullerton Education Teachers Association and the California Teachers Association. She was president of the Teachers Association for 4 years, and a member of the Contract Negotiations team for 6 years, serving as chairperson for 4 years.
Since retiring in 2010, Ms. Gaudette has traveled extensively, been a substitute teacher (when available) and a Supervisor of Student Teachers for Cal State-Fullerton. Ms. Gaudette sat on the Board of Directors for the Fullerton Education Foundation for 6 years. She has given many hours of service to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), being involved in various fund raising activities.

Leslie Edmonds is a skilled facilitator known for developing and inspiring creative approaches to designing, marketing, and delivering programs that are client-focused and impact the bottom line. She also has broad-based expertise in Management Training design and delivery. She has spent more than thirty years advising and consulting on state and federal labor laws as well as Human Resource issues and practices.
Ms. Edmonds received a Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University at Northridge, as well as a California Lifetime Teaching Credential. Her professional certifications include: a Professional Designation in Public Relations for UCLA, a Certified Focus Group Moderator from the Burke Institute, a Professional Designation in Human Resources from SHRM, and she is MBTI Qualified by the Association for Psychological Type.
Prior to joining the Champion Services Group, Ms. Edmonds successfully trained hundreds of management employees, from entry level to Vice President, at a major Southern California utility on business and skill-related topics, including: Project Management, Decision Making, Strategic Planning, Building Commitment, Supervision, Coaching and Leadership Skills. She consistently received high praise for enthusiastic delivery, effective presentation, and a tie-in to business issues. She also consults with Cal Poly Pomona’s Extended University where she has designed and delivered a series of Supervision classes for various Los Angeles County agency personnel. Originally designed for those who were new to supervision, due its success the university expanded the scope to include managers and agency directors.
Ms. Edmonds is involved in a variety of volunteer/ community activities. She is a Docent at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles. She serves as the Secretary for the Silver Lake Reservoirs Conservancy, which has worked for more than 25 years to increase access to open space, increase safe recreational activities and manage this water resource responsibly. For the past three years she has volunteered with “College Path LA” to assist high school seniors in writing their “Personal Statement” essays as part of their college application. She’s been able to influence and inspire second-generation and low-income students to achieve more than they had realized was possible.
Kathy Lambeth is a Senior Consultant with CSG and has been working with CSG for 14 years. She is also the president of Disability Management Associates, a consulting firm providing services to employers in the field of disability management, including ergonomics, early return to work programs, compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act and related state statutes as well as other issues related to disability in the workplace. Kathy has taught classes in hiring and supervising the disabled and has taught courses in counseling at the Master’s Degree level. Kathy’s clients have included Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program, Pacific Bell Telesis Company, the University of California, and the Veterans Administration.
After graduating from college, Kathy served for one year as a “Foot Soldier in the War on Poverty” (VISTA Volunteer) working with high school drop outs and gang kids by assisting them to stay out of jail, complete their education and secure gainful employment. She continued working with this population for several more years and then returned to graduate school and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in counseling. Next she worked with persons with a variety of disabilities assisting them in obtaining training, education and, ultimately, employment.
Jackie Newsom has over 20 years’ experience as a business manager and human resources consultant, customer service administrator, information systems manager, and facilitator/trainer in leadership development focused on change management, diversity, and customer service improvement. For the last ten years she has concentrated on providing facilitation, training, and consulting for all sized organizations in both the public and private sector. Jackie is also a 14-year faculty practitioner for the University of Phoenix.
Her delivery style is consistently professional, highly energetic, interactive, and entertaining. She has delivered training and consulting for organizations such as the County of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, US Navy and US Marine Corps, and International Longshore & Warehouse Union, and California Science Center to name a few.
Jackie designs and delivers a variety of management and employee training including Leadership, Diversity, Harassment Prevention, Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Communications, Time and Project Management courses. A popular trainer and consultant, Jackie is invited back by her clients time after time. Most recently he was named the new Faculty Development Chair for all of Southern California Market, previously he was the Southern California Regional Manager for National University and an Academic Affairs Manager in the College of Education at University of Phoenix. Mr. Jimenez has extensive experience in helping guide working adults achieve their educational goals, leadership, mentoring, and managing departmental as well as long distance and virtual teams.
Mr. Jimenez obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and his dual MBA in Global Management and Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix. As an adjunct faculty, lead faculty, and area chair for management, he strongly believes in learning from and facilitating the learning of working adults. As an advocate of life-long learning, he has also been a member of several committees such as Campus College Management Committee, Curriculum Development and Improvement team, and Academic Council.
Mr. Jimenez realizes and understands that change is the only constant in the current global climate of business, therefore, in his capacity as management and leadership consultant he strives to influence a positive change in the areas of diversity, organizational behavior and leadership, organizational training and development, and coaching and mentoring. Prior to entering the corporate world, Amryl was a secondary school teacher. She continues to be passionate about education issues and youth as is evident by her volunteer community projects. A native of Trinidad, she came to the Brooklyn, NY with her family at the age of 11. It is that spirit of aggressive pursuit of opportunity and forging her way in new and different environments that has equipped her to be the strong business ally and advocate in her work as a consultant. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Secondary Education from Hofstra University, a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix, a certificate in Management from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and her coaching certification from the Coach Training Alliance.
Amryl serves on the boards of Execute Now!, a financial management company based in Baton Rouge and the Triad Region Cares Mentoring Movement, founded by former Editor-in-Chief of Essence Magazine Susan Taylor. She is a member of National Association for Negro Business and Professional Women, Inc., and an Advisory Board member of the Carlos Lezama Caribbean Cultural Museum in New York. Traveling with her family is her favorite pastime.
Themum Crawford is a highly-skilled Learning and Development Trainer and Consultant. She has a broad range of training experience with profit and non-profit organizations nationally, and internationally. With over 18 years of experience in training and facilitation she is an accomplished hands-on consultant with deep practical experiences in varied workplace environments.
